I went to Prime in Huntington for lunch and although it wasn't my first visit to the highly popular restaurant the meal I chose to order was a first. Normally in the summer I crave salads, sushi and seafood but when I got to Prime my stomach was screaming burger. So burger it was. The juicy meat was accompanied by applewood bacon, tomato, lettuce, onion and cheddar cheese. When I cut it open I was immediately pleased. The bun was warm and soft making the entire eating experience great. Along with the burger I had shoestring fries that although tasty didn't really measure up to the burger. Everyone knows a burger is nothing without a good french fry. But I digress.
I decided to order a Bellini as well which was probably a bit of a mistake as I don't think it really was mixed too well. Sitting outside overlooking the water while eating requires a nice chill and tasty beverage and the Bellini was missing the right amount of chill and not enough flavor. I should have just ordered champagne.
Speaking of the view, Prime stands out in our community because of it's spectacular views of the Huntington Harbor. Boats line the waterway, trees rival the skies and the water draws you in. Food or not, good or bad you're immediately hooked. Prime offers a great selection of food, but I'm inclined to believe that if they didn't have the harbor as their wallpaper they may not be as successful as they are and the food wouldn't taste as good as your mind tells you it is.
So at the end of the day, Prime is definitely a great restaurant but I gotta be real....it's the view!!
